Mr. Austin Afutu, a Student of Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon, and the winning 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) team member, has received and accepted a full scholarship offer from Academic City University College.
The Academic City Presidential Scholarship Award, worth $40,000, is given to students who have demonstrated great academic accomplishment as well as leadership ability and entrepreneurial zeal. This scholarship is highly competitive and is only given to the most outstanding and worthy candidates.
Tuition, housing, meals, a laptop computer, a monthly stipend, and transportation to and from the student’s hometown are all covered by the scholarship (twice a year).
Mr. Afutu will pursue a four-year BSc Biomedical Engineering degree at Accra’s Academic City.
Mr. Afutu, according to PRESEC teachers, is diligent, has a good demeanor, and has considerably contributed to PRESEC’s sixth straight triumph in the tournament.
Ms. Shannan Akosua Magee, Academic City’s Director of Admissions, awarded the scholarship and underlined Academic City’s dedication to rewarding diligent students and supporting them to achieve their goals.

“At Academic City, our objective is to inspire the younger generation to become transformative leaders who will greatly contribute to Ghana’s and the African continent’s socioeconomic development,” she added.
Mr. Afutu expressed his gratitude to Academic City and promised not to slack up in his studies in order to make the university proud.
Since its inception in 2018, the Academic City Presidential Scholarship has benefited over 100 students (both Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians) who have exhibited extraordinary academic accomplishment and a dedication to positively influencing society via creative solutions.
