In an unexpected development, the much-awaited Afro Nation Nigeria festival, intended to happen in Lagos during December, has been officially scrapped. This news was declared by the event planners in a press release issued on October 31, 2023.
Organizers of the much-anticipated festival have put an end to their plans for the event due to their dedication to upholding high standards. They shared in a statement that, “We have a strong commitment to delivering only the best to Nigeria and it has become obvious that it would not be possible to reach this goal by December 2023.”
The organization Afro Nation, which specializes in offering a platform for artists to link up with their admirers and having an international influence, has efficiently conducted events in Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit. Nigeria, however, has a unique place in their affections, making the cancellation of the event a particularly sorrowful one.

The event coordinators expressed great sorrow over the fact that they were unable to host the fans in Nigeria this year, but they emphasized their determination to make the Afro Nation show in Lagos something everyone could be proud of.
The organizers have assured those who had procured tickets that they will be reimbursed the full amount, including any booking fees. No action is necessary on the part of the attendees as an email with instructions about the refunding procedure will be sent out.
Nigerian fans, who were greatly anticipating being part of the one and only Afro Nation Festival, are undoubtedly dejected by this announcement.

A number of top artists, including Burna Boy, J Hus, Flavour, Seyi Vibez, and Black Sherif, were originally announced as the headliners for the two-day festival that was set to take place at the historic Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
The Nigerian leg of the Afro Nation festival has been cancelled, leaving Ghana the sole African country to stage the renowned event. Afrobeat enthusiasts and the music industry will have to wait until the next occasion to get together and appreciate the unique culture that Afro Nation is renowned for.
