At the National Farmers’ Day awards in Accra on November 8, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced a marginal increase in the producer price of cocoa for the 2024/2025 crop season.
The price per 64kg bag will rise from GH₵3,000 to GH₵3,100, equating to an increase from GH₵48,000 to GH₵49,600 per tonne. The adjustment, a 0.03% hike, reflects the recommendations of the producer price review committee, which aims to better align cocoa prices with current market trends. The president reiterated his commitment to ensuring farmers’ incomes keep pace with economic challenges through periodic reviews.
