President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s potential victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
During an address to the chiefs and people of Wa, President Akufo-Addo emphasized his belief that John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot secure the presidency because he has previously lost to him twice.
Expressing gratitude for the support received during his tenure, President Akufo-Addo conveyed his intention to return to Wa with the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as his successor.
He clarified that he would not hand over power to John Dramani Mahama, whom he defeated and removed from office in 2016, asserting his commitment to the party’s leadership succession plan with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the chosen successor.
