Apostle Solomon Oduro, the General Overseer of the Royal Victory Family Church, has officially confirmed the dissolution of his marriage to Rev. Charlotte Oduro, a well-known relationship counsellor and media personality. The couple has been separated for three years, with their traditional marriage formally dissolved last year.
In a press release dated February 10, 2025, Apostle Oduro disclosed the details of their separation, which has been the subject of much speculation. He cited irreconcilable differences as the primary reason for the split, despite numerous attempts to salvage the marriage. The announcement comes as a surprise to many, especially given Rev. Charlotte’s previous assurances that she would never consider divorce.
The statement read:
“It is with a deep sense of responsibility and solemn reflection that I officially announce the dissolution of my marriage to Rev. Charlotte Oduro. This decision was reached after much prayer, discussion, and careful consideration.”
Apostle Oduro expressed that the decision was not made lightly and followed years of reflection and spiritual guidance. He appealed to the public for understanding and prayers during this transitional period:
“At this juncture, I earnestly call upon my loved ones, well-wishers, and the Body of Christ to uphold both myself and Rev. Charlotte Oduro in prayer. I remain committed to my divine calling—the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ—and humbly seek grace and support as we both navigate this new chapter of our lives.”
Rev. Charlotte Oduro has not yet publicly commented on the announcement, and the news has sparked widespread reaction. Many Ghanaians are taken aback, particularly given her previous emphasis on the sanctity of marriage and her steadfast counsel on relationships.
Apostle Oduro, recognizing his role as a public figure and spiritual leader, stressed the importance of addressing the matter directly to prevent misinformation and undue speculation:
“As a man of God and a role model to many, I consider it my responsibility to address this matter to prevent unnecessary controversy.”
In closing, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received throughout this challenging time:
