Argentina, the current world champions, have reversed their decision on scheduling an international friendly match against Ghana.
Argentina has opted to play Nigeria and Ivory Coast in the upcoming March international window, diverting from the initial plan to face Ghana.
While initial reports indicated Argentina’s agreement to face the Black Stars in China on March 26, the South American team has altered its plans, opting to play against the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-finalists, Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

Nigeria secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a convincing 2-0 victory over Cameroon, while Ivory Coast advanced by overcoming defending champions Senegal in a thrilling 5-4 penalty shootout.
Argentina holds a strong record against Nigeria, winning three out of five encounters, while the Super Eagles have secured victory in the remaining two matches. Against Ivory Coast, Argentina has been successful in both of their previous meetings with the Elephants.
Amid Nigeria and Ivory Coast’s success in the ongoing AFCON, Ghana is currently in pursuit of a new coach following the dismissal of Chris Hughton due to the team’s unexpected early exit from the tournament in Ivory Coast.
