Asante Kotoko has reported that two of its players, defender Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed Al Hasan and forward AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, have gone missing from the team’s camp in the United States.
The club stated that the players left the camp without authorization on Friday, October 11.
In response to their disappearance, Kotoko has alerted U.S. law enforcement, including the FBI, and is actively cooperating with authorities to ensure the safe return of the players. The team had traveled to the U.S. to participate in the Capital City Africa Cup match against Major League Soccer (MLS) club DC United. However, Kotoko has since withdrawn from the match after several of its players were denied visas by the U.S. Embassy in Ghana.
The situation has raised concerns within the club and among fans, as they hope for a swift resolution and the safe return of the missing players. Further updates are expected as Kotoko continues to work with law enforcement agencies.
