Sadiq Abdulai Abu, a Ghanaian music executive and parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, widely known as ‘Baba Sadia’, has publicly criticized Stonebwoy’s latest single “Jejereje,” describing it as “filled with noise.”
This controversy ignited when a fan of the Dancehall artist suggested on Facebook that Baba Sadiq had been secretly listening to the track. In response, Baba Sadiq firmly denied the claim, stating, “I don’t listen to ‘noise.’ It’s not a ‘superior artistic product.'”
Despite the criticism, Stonebwoy’s “Jejereje” has quickly gained popularity, trending at number one on YouTube Music within 48 hours of its release and amassing over 200,000 views.
Background of the Feud
The ongoing feud between Baba Sadiq and Stonebwoy has been marked by public exchanges and accusations. Baba Sadiq previously accused Stonebwoy of threatening his wife and exhibiting abusive behavior towards women. In retaliation, Stonebwoy filed a lawsuit against Baba Sadiq, demanding an apology and GHC3 million in damages for what he claimed were defamatory statements.
During the recent 3Music Awards (TGMAs), Baba Sadiq took the opportunity to campaign against Stonebwoy, promoting King Promise instead. As he prepares for future events, he appears to be continuing this trend of rivalry with the BHIM Nation boss.
The escalating tensions between these two figures in the Ghanaian music industry highlight the competitive nature of the scene as they both seek to assert their influence and appeal to fans.
