Presidential aspirant and leader of The New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Freedom Jacob Caesar or Cheddar, has elaborated on his pledge to extend the sea from Ghana’s coast to the landlocked Ashanti Region.
Highlighting the potential benefits of dredging the sea in Kumasi, Bediako emphasized its significance in unlocking the economic potential of Ghana’s Eastern and Western Corridors, thereby boosting international trade.
His decision to focus on Kumasi stems from the Ashanti Region’s favorable conditions for water dredging and transportation, as well as its strategic location.
Drawing inspiration from successful projects in other nations, such as Dubai’s transformation into a coastal city, Bediako envisions similar progress for Ghana.

He questions the current reliance on road transportation for goods, advocating for a faster and more efficient maritime route from the Tema Harbour to Kumasi.
Bediako highlights the drawbacks of the current transportation system, where goods often suffer damage or spoilage during the lengthy journey.
His vision extends beyond transportation infrastructure to include the development of power stations, energy infrastructure, industrialization, and technological advancement along the East and Western Corridors.
Bediako’s proposal aims to revolutionize Ghana’s economic landscape, fostering growth and prosperity through improved connectivity and infrastructure development.
