Chris Brown’s European tour is now facing major disruption as the R&B singer has been remanded in custody in the UK following allegations that he attacked a music producer with a bottle at a London nightclub.
The 36-year-old American artist was arrested by Greater Manchester Police on behalf of the Metropolitan Police after landing at Manchester Airport on a private jet on Wednesday afternoon. He was taken into custody in the early hours of Thursday from the Lowry Hotel, where he had been staying, and was later formally charged.
Brown appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where the court ordered that he be held in custody until June 13. The charges relate to an incident that allegedly took place at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, in February 2023.
The decision throws Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX Tour into uncertainty. The European leg was scheduled to kick off in Amsterdam on June 8, with stops in Hamburg (June 11) and Frankfurt (June 13). These dates are now unlikely to go ahead given his current detention.
Following the European leg, Brown was also due to begin a 10-date UK and Ireland tour, starting at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester on June 15, and ending at the same venue on July 3. Whether these performances will proceed remains unclear as legal proceedings unfold.
Fans and tour organizers are now left waiting for updates, as the singer faces potentially serious legal consequences that could extend beyond the current remand period.
