In light of the need to come together as citizens to develop our lot and that of the community at large, the people of Santrokofi-Bume a division in the Santrokofi traditional area have launched this year’s annual Homecoming celebration in order to bring development to the community.
The Association which was established 29 years ago with the main objective,to foster unity among citizens (both home and abroad).Other objectives included accessing the performance of the Santrokofi-Bume Development Association (SABUDA) and to chart the way forward, to also Energize citizens and seek their continuous support for the development of the community;especially in the areas of Education,health and poverty reduction.
The first ever celebration was in 2005 and later in 2008,2011 and 2017.
COVID-19 couldn’t permit the 2020 celebration.
This year celebration is mainly to expect participation from citizen to foster unity and harmonize resources for the developmental agenda and to institute community support system.
The target for the celebration is to raise an amount of Ghc 100,000.00.
The specific developmental project envisaged to be achieved is to complete the second phase of the teachers bungalow.
Over the years, the celebration have helped put up Clinic, classroom block for the primary school and the first phase of teachers residence.
The Theme for this years celebration is “Educational Infrastructure,A Prerequisite For Academic Success.”
The chairperson for the launch,Mr Christian Kedze called on all to renew their spirit of unity to enhance the celebration of sabuda.
He added that,unity have always
been a significant role in the development of every community.

Delivering the welcome address,the Chairman of SABUDA,Dr.Nathaniel Ati-kumi acknowledged the hard work of the past chairman of sabuda for his contribution towards the association since its establishment.He emphasized on the need for unity to facilitate the developmental agenda of SABUDA.
He called on all to come on board to to support the agenda.
On the 25th of December,2023 will be the Grand Durbar of this historic event in Santrokofi-Bume in the oti region.

Nana Obibiribi Kumi III, Krontihene of SANTROKOFI Traditional Area, Nana Otitiaku IV, Mr Godwin Opoku, Mr Victor Tetteh, Dr Charles Acheampong, Mr Williams Adjei and citizens of Santrokofi Bume and all well wishers of SABUDA.
