A High Court in Accra dismissed the action that Cruise People Ltd. brought against Ghanaian musician Black Sherif on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Black Sherif was scheduled to play in August 2023 in Athens, Greece, for an event titled “Afro Cruise Jam,” but it was canceled due to his alleged failure to honor an agreement, according to Cruise People LTD.
The company filed a claim for reimbursement against the winner of the BET Best International Flow of the Year, claiming that this cancellation had resulted in expenses for them.

Attorneys representing the well-known rapper and singer contended that the contract for his performance requires that any legal actions be brought in the United Kingdom, hence the court lacked jurisdiction to decide the issue.
In response, representatives of Cruise People Limited disputed this assertion, arguing that the matter was within the court’s jurisdiction because both parties are Ghanaians and conduct business there.
The musicians’ attorneys were supported by the Konongo-born musician’s court, which was ruled over by Judge Mariama Sammo.
The judge found that none of the addresses provided by the party carrying out the contract were in Ghana while making her ruling.
Due to this, the court was forced to dismiss the lawsuit against the award-winning musician.
