The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a statement in response to videos and commentary circulating on social media, claiming to show pictures and videos of actions taken by the OSP in the Cecilia Abena Dapaah case.
The OSP firmly denies leaking or revealing any information about its work to the media.
According to the OSP, they have not published or caused to be published any reports, videos, or pictures of the steps and actions taken in the case, nor have they disclosed the outcome of their actions.
In light of these false reports, the OSP urges the public to disregard any information or footage claiming to show the steps and actions taken by the OSP and the outcome of their investigations in the Cecilia Abena Dapaah case.
The background to this issue involves a TV3 report that detailed the search conducted at Madam Cecilia Dapaah’s residence. According to the report, officers of the Special Prosecutor spent more than five hours counting cash found at her home. Additionally, there were several vehicles, including the Minister and her husband, officers of the Special Prosecutor, and members of the media, present at the location during the search.
However, the OSP wants to clarify that they have not shared any such information with the media or the public. Any reports suggesting otherwise should be dismissed as untrue.
It is essential to wait for official statements and information from the OSP to avoid spreading misinformation and speculation about ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.
