Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has expressed the belief that individual self-improvement is a crucial factor in fixing the nation, rather than solely relying on politicians for national development.
This perspective has gained relevance in the midst of the #occupyjulorbihouse protest and the heightened political discourse in the country.
Okyeame Kwame’s view is that no single leader, regardless of their competence, can single-handedly address all of Ghana’s challenges. He emphasizes the importance of citizens taking responsibility for enhancing their health, fostering a positive mindset, strengthening their families, and excelling in their professions.

In his tweet, he asserted that every individual has the power to contribute to fixing the country, starting with their health, mindset, family, and work. By kindling small lights in their respective areas, Ghana can become a brighter place. While politicians also have a role to play, it is acknowledged that Ghana’s issues cannot be resolved by one person alone.
However, it’s worth noting that some Ghanaians expressed frustration with the musician’s comments, believing that they might be seen as absolving political leaders of their responsibilities for the country’s problems.
