Canadian superstar Drake just lost a $300,000 bet after Canada fell 2-0 to Argentina in the Copa America semifinal.
With odds of $9.60, Drake could have won about $2.88 million if Canada had beaten Argentina.
On Tuesday afternoon, Drake posted his bet slip on Instagram, captioning it with a playful and hopeful message: “This could get Messi @stake.”

Unfortunately for him, this isn’t the first big loss this year. He also lost a $565,000 bet in May when Tyson Fury failed to defeat Oleksandr Usyk.
During the game, Lionel Messi, an eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez scored for Argentina, sealing their victory at New York’s MetLife Stadium.
Now, Argentina is set to face the winner of the semifinal match between Uruguay and Colombia, which takes place on Wednesday, July 10.
The final, a highly anticipated showdown, will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Sunday, July 14.
Meanwhile, Canada will compete for third place against whoever loses the Uruguay vs. Colombia match.
