In reaction to the Ministry of Education’s refusal to modify the reopening date for first-year senior high school students across the country, Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has been summoned to appear before parliament by 12:30 p.m.
Failure to comply could result in a referral to the Privileges Committee.
Despite a previous parliamentary directive to postpone it, the minister insisted on keeping the scheduled reopening date. The unwavering stance of Dr. Adutwum triggered parliamentary action.

The education minister entered the room immediately after the Speaker’s statement.
His attendance is expected to clarify the ministry’s decision and give light on the logic behind carrying out the initial mandate.
This development comes on the heels of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), which processed 598,839 candidates and placed 585,797 people in various Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVET) across the country.
