The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced a collaboration with the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to streamline the accreditation process for journalists covering the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

In a statement released on October 21, 2024, the EC urged media houses to closely coordinate with the GJA to ensure a smooth and efficient accreditation process. The statement, signed by Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chair of the EC in charge of Operations, highlighted the Commission’s commitment to fostering a transparent and inclusive electoral process.

To facilitate this, the EC will provide free accreditation for journalists. Media organizations are required to submit their lists of journalists, along with photographs, by the deadline of October 31, 2024.
