The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced the commencement of the replacement process for Voter ID Cards, which will take place from Thursday, May 30, 2024, to Friday, June 14, 2024.

This initiative is aimed at voters who have misplaced their Voter ID Cards, ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming general elections on December 7.

In a statement released on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the EC advised all voters in need of replacement cards to make a payment of GH¢10 using the shortcode 2221067#. After making the payment, applicants will receive a reference code. They are required to present this code to the District Officer to facilitate the replacement process.

The EC emphasized that this service is part of their effort to ensure all eligible voters can participate in the upcoming elections without any issues. Voters are encouraged to visit their local EC offices for further information and assistance.

This move underscores the Commission’s commitment to maintaining a smooth electoral process and ensuring that all citizens have the necessary identification to exercise their voting rights.
