Meta has officially announced the expansion of its monetization features to Ghana, enabling local content creators to earn revenue through in-stream ads on Facebook.
This development, communicated by Meta’s Public Policy Manager for Anglophone West Africa, Sade Dada, to the Ministry of Information, includes plans to introduce ads on Facebook reels and extend these features to Instagram later this year.

To participate, creators must adhere to Meta’s Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies. The initiative aims to boost Ghana’s digital economy by empowering creators to generate income locally from their online activities.
The Ministry of Information has welcomed Meta’s investment as a milestone in advancing Ghana’s digital landscape, anticipating positive impacts on digital innovation and economic growth.
