Fameye, a talented Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and performer, recently expressed his feelings of disappointment for not winning the ‘Songwriter of the Year’ category at the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The ‘Praise’ singer was nominated alongside fellow artists Black Sherif, Diana Hamilton, Ewura Abena, Piesie Esther, and Perez Muzik.
The award in question was ultimately won by gospel musician Perez Music. Fameye shared that he had invested significant effort into crafting and delivering impactful messages through his music, believing that he genuinely deserved the recognition as the best songwriter.
However, it was unfortunate for him to have lost out on the award.

“Honestly, I was a little bit disappointed, even though the awards are just for bragging rights. Sometimes your fans get disappointed because they want to get the bragging right and be sitting somewhere and boast about you,” he told Andy Dosty.
He additionally mentioned that he had anticipated Piesie Esther to secure the award if he himself did not win it, but the outcome surprised him as she also did not win. “Honestly I knew that if I don’t win maybe Piesie Esther will take it.”
“I wasn’t even familiar with the Perez song. I only got to hear it after he was declared the winner in that category. Nonetheless, I believe he earned it, as the song sounded appealing when played in the auditorium,” he further commented.
