Attendees, including family, friends, and community members, lit candles and laid flowers in tribute to the two girls. Prayers were offered, and heartfelt tributes flowed from those who knew them, creating a poignant atmosphere of mourning for the promising futures that were cut short.

The accident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, lost control of a Jaguar SUV, which then collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle, leading to a devastating fire. The occupants of the Acura were tragically burned beyond recognition.

Following the incident, Elrad’s parents, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife Mouha Amoako, were arrested and later granted bail. Bishop Amoako has since issued a public apology to the families of Justine and Maame, expressing his deep sorrow and praying for God’s comfort and strength for the grieving families. The vigil stands as a community’s way of honoring the memories of the two young lives lost in such a tragic manner.
