The late James Lutterodt, the 19-year-old prodigy from Keta Senior High School who became a National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) star, was fondly remembered during a touching one week observation ceremony organized by his family.
The solemn event was held at the Tema Community Center in Community One and was attended by a gathering of people who held James in high regard. Among the attendees were past students of Keta Senior High School, current colleagues from the University of Ghana Commonwealth Hall and Jean Nelson Aka Hall, where James had left a remarkable impact.
James Lutterodt was part of the historic team that participated in the 2021 NSMQ, earning their school the honor of being the first Volta regional school to advance so far in the prestigious competition. Their exceptional performance garnered much praise and recognition.

Although the team didn’t emerge as champions, their journey was a source of pride for their school and community. Tragically, James passed away on July 3 after bravely battling a brief illness at a hospital in Tema.
During the one-week observation, friends, colleagues, and loved ones came together to offer their heartfelt condolences and unwavering support to James’ grieving family. The ceremony served as a moment of reflection and remembrance, celebrating the inspiring life of a young talent gone too soon.
Final Funeral is scheduled for August 19th at the forecourt of the Tema Community Center after which the mortal remains would be conveyed to Agbozume for interment
