The Black Stars of Ghana have returned from Bamako following a thrilling 2-1 victory over Mali on Matchday 3 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Jordan Ayew’s dramatic 94th-minute goal secured the win for Ghana at the Stade du 26 Mars on Thursday.
The team landed at Nana Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi at 1:15 am via an ASKY Airlines flight. Their focus now shifts to preparing for their upcoming match against the Central African Republic, scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2024.

In the hard-fought match against Mali, Kamory Doumbia put Mali ahead just before halftime in the 45th minute. Ghana responded in the second half with a powerful header from Ernest Nuamah to equalize in the 58th minute. The game seemed headed for a draw until Ayew, assisted by fellow substitute Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, netted the decisive goal in the final moments.
Currently, Ghana and Comoros are tied at the top of Group I with 6 points each. Comoros will face Madagascar on Friday, June 7, 2024. Ghana’s next match against the Central African Republic will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where they will aim to secure another vital win in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
