Finance Minister to present Mid Year Budget Review tomorrow, July 23.

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, will present the Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2024 Financial Year to Parliament on Tuesday, 23rd July 2024, as mandated by Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

According to a statement from the Ministry, this mid-year review will provide an update on the implementation of the 2024 Budget, detailing the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year. It will cover areas such as growth measures, revenue and expenditure performance, financing, debt sustainability, and the IMF-supported Post Covid-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG).

The review will also address budget implementation for the remainder of the year and may include revisions to proposed growth policies, with a particular emphasis on SME growth. Additionally, it will provide updates on the status of key government programs, revenue measures, expenditure controls, and necessary financing adjustments based on the performance in the first half of the year.

“The document will highlight budget implementation for the rest of the year and a possible review of proposed policies on growth with a focus on SME growth, status on implementation of key government programmes, revenue measures, and expenditure controls, and financing adjustments based on the half-year performance,” the statement concluded.
