Raphael Dwamena, a forward from Ghana, passed away today after he fell during an Abania League match between Partizani Tirana and Egnatia Rrogozhinë.
In the twenty-third minute of the match, he went down, and his teammates hurried to his side to provide him with emergency medical attention.
Sadly, there was not much that could be done, and at the age of 28, he passed away. Given that this is not the first time Dwamena has passed out during a game, his death is likely related to his cardiac condition.
The Ghanaian forward was admitted to the hospital in 2021 following his collapse during an Austrian Cup football match between BW Linz and Hartberg.

Ralph’s contract with the Danish club Vejle Boldklub was terminated a year earlier due to the discovery of his cardiac condition.
Following a heart surgery, Ralph received an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to monitor his heart rate.
He played for nine clubs in his nine-year professional career, including illustrious ones like FC Zurich, Levante, Real Zaragoza, and Red Bull Salzburg.
Raphael Dwamena made his Black Stars debut in 2017. His international career was cut short due to heart issues. In nine games overall, he scored two goals.
