Meanwhile, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Damptey Asare, assured that the Ghanaian community in Kenya remains safe. Speaking on JoyNews’ Africa Connect, Asare emphasized that there have been no reports of casualties among Ghanaians or any incidents involving the Ghanaian community amidst the protests in Kenya.

The demonstrations in Kenya intensified following the approval of a controversial finance bill by parliament, which includes tax hikes. Reports indicate that four protesters were shot outside parliament, with one casualty reported by the Kenya Human Rights Commission, though this has not been independently confirmed. The incident has been condemned as a violation of human rights by various organizations.
