Gas supply shortage causes nationwide power outages in Ghana – GRIDCo

The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo), responsible for operating the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS), has attributed the nationwide power outages to a limited supply of gas.

In a statement, GRIDCo indicated that the country would face power challenges during peak times. They acknowledged that this situation would impact power supply to consumers in various parts of the country and expressed deep regret for any inconvenience caused.

The statement underscores the ongoing challenges in ensuring consistent and reliable power supply in Ghana.

The Ghana Grid Company Ltd, (GRIDCo), the “Operator” of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) informs the general public that due to limited gas supply to Tema, there will be a supply gap of 550MW at peak time.
