The Ghanaian woman on the verge of breaking the record for the longest singing marathon, Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, has received assistance and advice from Rex Omar, the chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
Rex Omar urged Asantewaa to compile an extensive list of the songs she plans to play at the function, emphasizing how crucial it is to provide this list to the royalties collection agency.
He emphasized how important it is to follow this rule in order to prevent GHAMRO from putting any restrictions on Asantewaa’s ability to perform copyrighted music.

Rex Omar emphasized in a GTV interview how important this guidance is to making sure that copyright holders and artists are properly acknowledged and compensated for using their intellectual property.
“She has to list all the songs and their respective artistes. She may not necessarily know the right owners but when you put the artiste there, GHAMRO will know who the right owners are.
She should send a copy to GHAMRO. If she doesn’t do that, GHAMRO can come and stop her,” Rex Omar stated in an interview with Kafui Dey.
He went further to say: “You cannot go and use somebody’s property… By law, she has to list the songs. She must do the right thing. List all the songs you want to sing, and give a copy to GHAMRO so that after you have finished, GHAMRO will follow the money. That is how it is done all over the world.”
The CEO of Askof Productions Limited, Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, is getting ready to try a stunning four-day Guinness World Record (GWR) at the Akwaaba Village. Her main objective via this long musical marathon is to support and promote Ghanaian music, rather than just reach a personal milestone.
Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum hopes to hold a demanding event that lasts an astounding 117 hours, surpassing the record of 105 hours held by Indian competitor Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
Her special performances during this marathon will feature a wide range of Ghanaian tunes from hiplife, highlife, and gospel.
Driven by the triumph of Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon, in which she shattered a legendary culinary record, Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum is committed to making a significant mark in the music industry. She also wants to help Ghanaian talent become more widely recognized on the international scene.
