The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has inked a visa waiver agreement between Ghana and the Commonwealth of Bahamas.
According to a statement issued by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) on February 20, “Per the note, the Government of Bahamas wishes to apprise the relevant competent Ghanaian aviation authorities, airline companies and services of the signed agreement. All OIC’s of entry and points and relevant sections are to take note of the above information and act accordingly.”
The waiver applies to all passport classifications, including diplomatic, service, and regular passports.
According to the Immigration Service, the waiver is meant to avoid obstacles and inconveniences that unwary tourists may face while traveling from Ghana to the Bahamas.
