Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged Ghanaians to be patient with the team, as the players need time to harmonize and work together effectively. His youthful squad recently secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Monday night at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In this high-scoring match, veteran forward Jordan Ayew stood out by scoring a hat-trick, while Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also found the back of the net. Despite the presence of experienced players like Ayew and Thomas Partey, the team primarily consists of young talents who are still adapting to playing together.

Otto Addo emphasized the importance of giving the players time to develop and adapt to different coaching styles and strategies. He noted the challenges the players face as they return to their clubs, where they are exposed to various coaching philosophies, before coming back to the national team setup.
“I hope that Ghanaians give us time. It’s always difficult because after this, the guys will be on a break and then coached with different ideas, and then I will come with different ideas too,” Addo explained. “It’s always difficult because I always look at the opponent and see what solutions are best. I can guarantee you that the approach to our next game will also be determined by how our opponents play.”
Addo expressed confidence in the young players’ potential to grow, learn, and make better decisions over time. “The players are very young, but they will grow and learn to adapt. They will recognize the right situations and make the right decisions with time,” he added.
Following their victory, Ghana now leads Group I with nine points from four games. This strong performance positions them well in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
