The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) will commence the “Pay or Get Disconnected” initiative on Monday, November 20, aimed at consumers who have refused to make their water bill payments.
GWCL will carry out this statewide revenue mobilization initiative in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service.
To avoid potential confrontations with the taskforce, the corporation delivers a strong warning to all water customers, both individual and corporate, with outstanding balances.
Collins Nuamah, GWCL’s Deputy Managing Director, advised customers to download the company’s app from the Google Play and Apple App Stores for a hassle-free bill payment experience.
Nuamah told customers on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo” on Friday, November 17, that paying their bills would be simple.

He warned people who disobey this directive, emphasizing that disconnection will result in a reconnection fee.
“No sweat to pay your bill,” the Deputy Managing Director said in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo” on Friday, November 17.
“If you owe us, note that from Monday, our taskforce will disconnect you if you don’t pay up. If we disconnect you and you come for reconnection, you will also pay reconnection fee. Since the exercise is across the country, if you sit aloof for us to disconnect you, you cannot be guaranteed that we will reconnect you in a week or two,” he underlined.
With the exercise’s broad reach, GWCL emphasizes that delaying action on disconnections may result in longer reconnection times.
