The High Court has deferred the hearing on the blocked bank accounts and seized assets of former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah until January 11, 2024.
The adjournment comes as prosecutors await the completion of an investigative report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding corruption allegations.

The case, titled Special Prosecutor v Cecilia Dapaah & Daniel Osei Kuffour (civil case) FT/0074/2023, involves corruption claims against Ms. Dapaah and her aide, Daniel Osei Kuffour. During Friday’s session, the prosecution requested the adjournment, emphasizing the significance of the FBI’s findings in their ongoing investigation.
The presiding court granted the prosecution’s request but emphasized the need for a specific timeline for the Special Prosecutor’s office to conclude its examination before the next hearing.
In the meantime, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has affirmed that he has not intervened in the ongoing probe of Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
Speaking at the inauguration of the evaluation of Ghana’s National Anti-Corruption Action Plan, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that the executive branch does not interfere in investigations involving government officials.
He cited the case of Cecilia Abena Dapaah as an example, asserting that there has been no attempt by the executive to influence the investigations.
