Divine Bosson, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ho, has conveyed the determination of the Municipal Assembly and other relevant parties to tackle the recurring issue of flooding in the Ho municipality.
The MCE underscored the significance of implementing a comprehensive drainage system as the fundamental solution to the problem of flooding in Ho. This entails the construction of numerous drains and gutters to effectively address the issue.
The most recent incident of flooding, which occurred on Saturday, 8 July 2023, resulted in substantial damage to numerous houses and stores in the area.
Mr. Bosson emphasized the necessity for a substantial number of drains and gutters in Ho to manage the significant volume of water that flows through them during rainfall. He emphasized the importance of a well-engineered project and stated that a comprehensive report would be compiled after the final assessment by the disaster management team.
“Ho needs a lot of drains and gutters to contain the volume of water that is passing through the gutters anytime it rains. It must be a well-engineered project and we will put the report together after the final assessment by the disaster managers,” Mr Bosson said.
