Ghanaian singer Olivetheboy has expressed his disappointment with way artists and attendees were handled while entering the venue for the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, he described the admission process as chaotic. “The entry was crowded as artists approached, and some of the people who were supposed to receive us were talking rudely,” the Bu Vision Music star lamented.
He highlighted that his experience was not uncommon, citing the difficulties of “even the people who were coming to see the event.”
“They need to speak to us nicely,” he said. “That’s the only thing I didn’t like.”

The singer-songwriter also revealed that his Best Afrobeats Song of the Year award for the smash single ‘Goodsin’ was taken backstage. “I don’t know when they’ll return it unless I ask,” he stated. “They had us take pictures, and then they collected the plaque.”
He finished by stating that this was his first prize in his music career.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards, organized by Charterhouse, were held on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre’s (AICC) Grand Arena.
