Ghanaian Hiplife Artist Mzbel said she was pushed into a desperate need for a child.
Speaking, on UTV, the ‘I be sixteen years’ hitmaker took custody of some children through mutual consent with their families but regretted the decision.
“Due to the brouhaha surrounding the ‘adoption’ of my children, I became desperate for my own child, so I spoke with experts to help me adopt legally but I quickly abandoned the idea because of my experience and the continuous criticism from people, I decided to give birth to my own, and I got what I wanted, a baby girl, I would not advice anyone to adopt a child especially without going through the legal means” she added.
In 2020, Mzbel disclosed on her Facebook page that John, whom she adopted at the age of 3, had left her. Mzbel recounts with tears how her adopted son, John was taken away from her by his biological mum.
According to Mzbel, John’s mom came for him after she realized that he was now fit and had a future.

“John’s mother came for him, I took care of him since age 3, he has completed Senior High School, had good grades and was about to go to the university so his mother came for him. The most heart-breaking part is that he also followed his mother and left. He wants the freedom to roam about in chorkor. Anywhere you see John misbehaving don’t call me a bad mother because he is no longer under my care” she said amidst tears in the video.
Mzbel announced last month that she had delivered a baby girl. She now has two biological children.
