Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has expressed his expectation that Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, will respect the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding the four vacant parliamentary seats.
In an interview on Citi FM on Monday, October 21, Blay emphasized that the authority to interpret Ghana’s laws rests with the Supreme Court and that its rulings must be respected.
Blay underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law, stating that it is essential for Parliament and especially the Speaker to honor decisions made by the nation’s highest court. He noted that it would be surprising if Speaker Bagbin were to disregard the court’s ruling.
