Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, better known by his stage as Akon, is a renowned Senegalese-American musician who just revealed something about Black Sherif from Ghana.

The Akon claims that Black Sheriff is his favorite performer from the continent of Africa.

“I’m a huge fan of Black Sheriff now. Maybe ’cause he just reminded me of the energy of myself when I came out,” he said

The well-known musician recalled how he first learned about “Kweku Frimpong,” saying it was from a Mali acquaintance.

“I remember the first record, I was in New York City when a friend of mine named Bako from Mali played me his song, I said yo, who the F is that? Like you can hear in his voice the pain, the struggle, you hear the challenges but you can just hear a ghetto kid just wanting to get out, like it’s the way he says it,” he added.

The head of Konvict Muzik also issued a warning to international record companies to sign Black Sherif quickly before he does.

He recently performed at his first concert in the UK, which was followed by a critically praised riveting performance at the 2020 MOBO Awards.

He was named the Ghana Music Awards UK’s Artiste of the Year for 2022.

He has worked with notable figures in the music industry such as Burna Boy, Stormzy, and Sarkodie. We support Blacko because he is winning in a unique way.
