The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has clarified that reports circulating on social media about renowned actress Jackie Appiah’s mansion in Trassaco being engulfed in flames are false.
On the night of October 11, a video surfaced showing a house on fire, leading to widespread speculation that it belonged to Jackie Appiah. However, Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADO1), Alex King Nartey, from the GNFS, confirmed early Saturday morning that the affected house actually belongs to Jackie Appiah’s manager, Madam Samira. He emphasized that only a portion of the house was impacted, specifically the cinema room.
Nartey stated:
“After confirming from our responding crew, the affected house belongs to Madam Samira, Jackie Appiah’s manager, and it was the cinema room of the house that got affected by the fire.”
This incident comes amid a concerning trend of fires in the Greater Accra Region, which reported 708 incidents between January and June 2024. The Ashanti Region followed closely with 661 cases. Despite these alarming numbers, the fire service managed to save over GHC 60 million worth of property from destruction during that period.
The clarification from the GNFS aims to quell misinformation and reassure fans and the public regarding Jackie Appiah’s safety and property. As of now, Jackie Appiah has not publicly reacted to the reports surrounding this incident.
