John Mahama, the designated Flag-bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 elections, has called upon the NDC party and Ghanaians as a whole to remain constantly watchful and alert in order to thwart any potential clandestine schemes by the electoral commission to manipulate the outcome of the 2024 elections.

Mr. Mahama passionately urged members of his party, as well as all Ghanaians, to stay vigilant and not permit the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the electoral commission to undermine the democratic will of the people. He emphasized the importance of protecting and upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
Mr. Mahama asserted that it is the collective responsibility of all to honor the will of the Ghanaian people for change by maintaining eternal vigilance. He stressed the importance of securing that change through democratic processes and preventing any attempts to undermine it through rigging or other forms of manipulation, ensuring that such efforts are unsuccessful.
The NDC is further concerned about the National Identification Authority’s inability to issue the Ghana card to all Ghanaian citizens who have applied for it. This situation raises additional worries for the party, as it may impact the inclusivity and accuracy of the voter registration process.
There have been reports indicating that certain individuals have been waiting in queues for their Ghana card for as long as 18 months after initially applying. This extended waiting period raises concerns about the efficiency and timeliness of the card issuance process, potentially hindering individuals from obtaining their identification in a timely manner.
