The latest data from the Ghana Statistical Service indicates a slight drop in inflation, with the June figure standing at 22.8%, down from 23.1% in May.
Despite this decline, several items have experienced significant price hikes, warranting policy interventions at both national and household levels.

Compared to the same period in 2023, prices for certain items have risen sharply, with fresh Okro experiencing a year-on-year inflation of 87.8%, followed by fresh green pepper at 71.0%, and fresh tomatoes at 67.5%.
Other items with notable price increases include oranges (55.9%), garlic (50.1%), avocado pear (48.3%), and cocoyam leaves (46.5%). These price surges highlight ongoing challenges in managing inflation for essential goods, particularly food items.
