Kofi Adams, a member of parliament for the Buem constituency, has been named the new Minister of Sports and Recreation by President John Mahama.

The third group of ministerial appointments for parliamentary approval includes this nominee. Adams, who will undergo screening prior to his official inauguration, replaces Mustafa Ussif, the Sports Minister from President Nana Akufo-Addo’s previous administration.

Adams, 49, has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a focus on the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases and brings a wealth of political and educational experience to the position.

“I will gladly accept the Sports Minister position if appointed,” Adams stated in a previous interview with GhOne TV, indicating his readiness to take on the role. Let’s concentrate on and successfully execute grassroots sports”.

In his capacity as Minister, Adams is anticipated to address important matters pertaining to the sports industry, such as developing sporting facilities, obtaining increased financial support for national teams, and raising Ghana’s standing in important competitions.
