Lamine Yamal became the youngest goalscorer in European Championship history as Spain triumphed over France in a thrilling contest to reach the final of Euro 2024.
Randal Kolo Muani headed in Kylian Mbappe’s cross to give France an early lead, but Yamal soon equalized with a stunning strike from outside the box. This historic goal, scored at 16 years and 362 days, etched Yamal’s name into the record books.

Yamal’s goal came in the 21st minute, and just four minutes later, Spain took the lead as Dani Olmo’s shot was deflected into the net by French defender Jules Kounde. This rapid turnaround showcased Spain’s attacking prowess, putting France on the back foot.
France responded strongly in the second half, with Aurelien Tchouameni’s header being saved and Mbappe narrowly missing from a long-range effort.
Playing without a face mask for the first time since breaking his nose, the France captain had a golden opportunity to equalize late in the game, but his shot soared over the bar, epitomizing his recent struggles.

France, despite their efforts, could not break through, falling short against a Spanish side that looks formidable heading into Sunday’s final against either England or the Netherlands.
