The lifeless body of a man in his mid-40s, identified as Billy Bless, was discovered in the bedroom of a police officer’s residence in Kpetoe, Volta Region.
The police officer is a Superintendent of Police and serves as the Kpetoe District Police Commander, though her identity has not been disclosed.
The incident occurred while the police officer was away in Ho, leaving her official residence unoccupied. Unfortunately, it was in this vacant residence that the deceased, who was the police officer’s fiancé, was found lifeless, prompting immediate action.

His body has been transported to the morgue at the Ho Teaching Hospital for preservation and an autopsy.
The sequence of events leading to this tragic discovery reveals that Billy Bless had visited the police officer on October 25, 2023, and then left her in Ho while he traveled to Kpetoe. He informed the police officer’s driver of his intention to stay overnight in her official residence and was entrusted with the house keys.
The following day, when the police driver noticed that the key had not been returned to its usual location, he contacted the police commander, who was still in Ho.
The police commander directed the driver to seek the assistance of a carpenter to gain access to the residence. When they forced open the bedroom door, they discovered the tragic fate of Billy Bless.
The deceased and the police commander had been planning to marry, but their separation followed revelations that Billy had another girlfriend with whom he had a child, possibly contributing to the tragic outcome.
While initial investigations are ongoing, sources suggest that the incident is currently being treated as a case of suicide.
