Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, is currently involved in an ongoing legal case following a tragic accident that claimed the life of three-year-old Nana Yaw Ampomah. The incident, which occurred on June 3, 2024, has led to significant legal and personal repercussions for the actor.

In a bid to provide some solace to the grieving family, LilWin has initiated a comprehensive compensation plan. As part of this plan, he has replaced the Hyundai Santa Fe, which belonged to Nana Yaw’s father and was destroyed in the accident, with a brand-new vehicle. Beyond this, LilWin has offered financial assistance totaling GH₵95,000. This amount includes GH₵50,000 for general support and an additional GH₵45,000 to cover funeral and hospital expenses.

Recognizing the impact on the deceased child’s siblings, particularly the surviving twins, LilWin has also pledged ongoing support to ensure their well-being.

The legal process surrounding the incident is ongoing at the Asokore Mampong District Court. During the court session on July 27, 2024, LilWin’s legal representative, Nana Bonsu Kyeretwie, mentioned that they were awaiting further instructions from the Attorney General’s Office regarding the case. Although the trial was initially set to continue on August 26, it was postponed due to the absence of both the judge and the deceased’s family. LilWin, however, was present in court. The next hearing is now scheduled for September.

LilWin’s arrest by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command in Kumasi, followed by his subsequent release on bail set at GH₵50,000 with two sureties, has sparked widespread public discussion. The case has raised questions about the accountability of public figures and the broader implications of celebrity involvement in legal matters.

The family of the deceased has expressed their intention to pursue justice while acknowledging the steps LilWin has taken to compensate for their loss. This situation continues to draw significant public interest, underscoring the delicate balance between legal consequences and personal restitution in such high-profile cases.
