Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has confirmed that his ministry has paid $3 million to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for the coverage of the 2024 All African Games, which took place in Accra four months ago.
The minister made this statement in response to a query from Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel George, during a session of the Public Accounts Committee on August 19, 2024.

Samuel George inquired about the payment status to GBC, particularly because many technicians involved in the event’s coverage have reportedly not been paid. The minister confirmed that full payment had been made to GBC but did not specify the exact amount, noting it was in excess of $3 million.
In response to this confirmation, Sam George indicated that the Public Accounts Committee would follow up with GBC to understand why the technicians have not received their payments despite the full settlement from the ministry.
