Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has faced severe criticism following a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 3-year-old child named Nana Yaw. Media personality Nana Yaa Brefo has presented a different viewpoint, urging the public not to rush to judgment and place all the blame on LilWin.
She contends that the child’s father also shares responsibility for allowing the child to sit in the front seat, which is against the law.
Brefo pointed out that legally, a three-year-old should not be seated in the front seat of a vehicle. In a video that has since gone viral, she questioned the quickness of the public to accuse LilWin without considering the full context. She emphasized the importance of waiting for the police investigation to determine the actual cause of the accident.
“A three-year-old, first of all, should not be seated at the front of a vehicle. Why are we quick to judge and say LilWin killed the child? We’re not judges. I think we should slow down a bit and not be quick to judge. The child’s father shouldn’t also be spared from criticism. It’s against the laws of the country to place a three-year-old child in the front seat. It’s wrong,” Brefo stated.

Brefo also expressed her sympathy for the grieving family and highlighted the significant pain of losing a child. She underscored the gravity of reckless driving and insisted on justice if LilWin’s speeding was found to be a contributing factor to the accident.
“I sympathize with the bereaved family. It is painful and as a mother, I can feel their pain. To carry a baby for nine months and lose him is no joke. Overspeeding and senseless driving should not be encouraged. If it is indeed true that the child died as a result of LilWin’s act of overspeeding, then we must seek justice for the child,” she added.
The accident happened while LilWin was on his way to the premiere of the movie ‘A Country Called Ghana’ in Kumasi. Reports indicate that LilWin, allegedly driving at high speed, collided with the vehicle carrying Nana Yaw and his father, Mr. Jacob Kofi Ampomah. Following the crash, both the father and child were initially taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where the child later died.
Brefo concluded her statement by extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and emphasizing the importance of accountability while acknowledging the profound loss they have endured.
