John Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has taken a significant step to bolster security at the University of Ghana (UG), Legon. On Tuesday, May 28, Dumelo personally donated two new motorcycles and streetlights to the university’s Security Department.

This initiative aims to address and mitigate incidents of phone snatching and petty thefts that have been troubling both the UG and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) campuses.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) dated Wednesday, May 29, Dumelo emphasized the importance of student security and the protection of their properties. He expressed his hope that the donated motorcycles and streetlights would aid the security personnel in their efforts to combat these crimes more effectively.
