Social media users in Ghana have been taken aback by a leaked document requesting the purchase of keyboards for board members of Ghana’s Cocobod.
The leaked proforma invoice, dated February 26, 2024, and signed by Enoch Tettey Martey, requests keyboards for 15 Board Members of Cocobod.
According to the attached letter, the keyboards are intended to enhance productivity and facilitate the comfortable use of iPads during board meetings.

The shock expressed by social media users is not about the purchase of keyboards itself, but rather the exorbitant price at which they are being acquired by an institution facing financial challenges.
Each keyboard, according to the leaked request letter, carries a cost of Ghc4,500 for Cocobod.
The Cocobod board, chaired by Mr. Peter Mac Manu, includes members such as the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo; Nana Johnson Mensa; Nana Obeng Akrofi; Mr. Edward Okoh Ampofo of Cocoa Health & Extension Division; Mr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addision, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana; Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo; Hon. Herbet Krapa; Mr. Charles Kofi Adu Boahen; Hon. Kwadjo Ashanti; and Nana Adwoa Donkua.
