NPP’s National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, Appointed as NPA Board Chair

Stephen Ayesu Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been appointed as the Board Chairman of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

He succeeds Joe Addo-Yobo, who has held the position since 2017. The announcement was made by Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who officiated the swearing-in ceremony on May 21, 2024.

In his Facebook post, Dr. Prempeh expressed confidence in Ntim’s leadership capabilities and outlined key priorities for his new role. These include strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing operational efficiencies, and maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability within the NPA.

Stephen Ntim has a long history with the NPP, having been a member of the Danquah-Busia Club, which evolved into the NPP in 1992. He served as the National First Vice-Chairman of the party from 2001 to 2005 and has been an active and persistent figure within the party, contesting for the chairmanship position multiple times before finally being elected in 2022 on his fifth attempt.

Dr. Prempeh underscored that Ntim’s extensive experience and dedication to the party and the nation make him well-suited to steer the NPA towards achieving its objectives for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
