On United Showbiz, a program hosted by MzGee on UTV, entertainment pundit and TV host, MC Yaa Yeboah, stated that amidst the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration, which began on Thursday, the police had no right to treat protesters in such a manner, pushing and manhandling them.

She further stated categorically that, in her opinion, the current IGP is the best appointment so far, proving that the Police institution can be effective if certain structures are put in place.

However, amidst this demonstration, there hasn’t been any official statement from the police service.

“Could it be that the political elites are frustrating him now? Because the Dampare I know would not do or allow such things to happen. He would do everything possible to update citizens on what is going on,” she stated.

She urged the IGP not to be lost in action during this critical moment but to be proactive in protecting Ghanaians.

MC Yaa Yeboah reiterated part of a speech by IGP Dampare, “I want the Ghana Police Service to become an exemplary institution within the African Community and the world at large.”

“But here lies the case where the police are pushing and molesting people they swore to protect,” she continued to say.

In conclusion, MC Yaa Yeboah pleaded with the high-ranking members of the police force and the IGP himself to speak up on the issue.
